2014 Lexus LX 570 Review – Powerful SUV Ready for Off-Road Action

This image shows the LX 570's impressive off-road capabilities, but I personally wouldn't risk taking such an expensive SUV into rugged terrain without proper preparation.

Recently, Lexus loaned me a 2014 Lexus LX 570, which impressed me with its luxurious interior and impressive off-road prowess. The exterior design is bold and stylish, making it hard not to notice in traffic. The rear hatch, however, was less appealing to me. While some may appreciate the clamshell design, I found it inconvenient when loading or unloading items from the cargo area.

The rear seating area feels more spacious than it actually is, which can be both a blessing and a curse depending on your needs.

The rear door design is functional but could be improved for better usability.

The twin rear DVD players are a fantastic addition, providing hours of entertainment for families on long trips. While the third-row seats fold up, they don’t significantly increase cargo space, which might be disappointing for those needing more flexibility.

Driving Experience

Despite its size, the LX 570 handles remarkably well. Parking can be a bit challenging if you’re not accustomed to larger vehicles, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes manageable. The 5.7L V-8 engine provides ample power, making highway cruising and off-road adventures equally enjoyable. The suspension system absorbs bumps effortlessly, offering a smooth ride regardless of the terrain.

Even though it's large, the LX 570 is surprisingly agile and comfortable to drive.
